With a late 2019/20 Premier League opening day victory over Aston Villa last weekend, today saw Tottenham Hotspur face reigning top flight Champions Manchester City.
Making the trip up to the Etihad Stadium for the game, manager Mauricio Pochettino would’ve been hoping to see the side pick up all three points once again and cause what many would naturally say was an upset.
Well, we sort of got the upset when you look at the amount of chances the hosts created compared to ours, even though they only slightly edged possession, but sometimes you need to buckle down and ride out a storm and we took what may be a very valuable point come the end of the season.
With City taking the lead twice, goals from Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura tied the game up at 2-2 and despite Video Assistant Referee technology featuring, a point is a point. City haven’t dropped points one home soil since December 2018.
That’s worth remembering I would think.
