Spurs fans react to Paratici and Hitchen passion

|

Spurs‘ Managing Director Fabio Paratici and Technical Director Steve Hitchen have been hard at work this summer trying to negotiate transfers for potential incomings and outgoings, as the club prepares to rebuild for a new era, lead by Nuno Espirito Santo.

The project got off to a perfect start this evening, as Spurs welcomed fans back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by comfortably beating Premier League Champions and Champions League Runners-Up Manchester City 1-0, thanks to a superb goal from Korean forward Heung-min Son.

Both directors were very vocal from their seats just behind the Spurs dugout, and looked just as excited as the 62,000 fans in the stadium to see the team battling all over the pitch for every ball – and videos of them celebrating have gone viral.

One fan said: “Personal highlight for me… aside from the obvious…. has to be Paratici & big Steve Hitchen fully giving it to pep & telling him to shut the f up, stop crying n sit down!”

One fan even compared the duo to Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute from hit US TV sitcom The Office, saying: “Nah Hitchen is definitely the Dwight to Paratici’s Michael.. Fabio on the phone, hitchen on the phone, fabio shouts to the pitch hitchen shouts.. embarrassing.”

Supporters also found it interesting that both Paratici and Hitchen were so close to the pitch as opposed to the directors box, with one saying: “Interesting too see Hitchen there tbh they have both been on the frontlines for every game so far, you would think they would be with Levy.”

Spurs will next be in action on Thursday as they take on Pacos de Ferreira in the UEFA Conference League, with Wolves awaiting them on Sunday in the Premier League.
