With news that Tottenham Hotspur centre-half Jan Vertonghen was going to be out until at least December with a hamstring injury coming out this week, despite manager Mauricio Pochettino’s hopes that a second scan would carry more luck, a number of fans took to social media to air their disappointment and frustration at the development.
As they did that, news also broke that left-back Danny Rose had now withdrawn from the England setup with an issue of his own.
31-year-old Vertonghen is said to be reacting well to treatment after sustaining the problem against Huddersfield Town last month, but that hasn’t helped his expected return date.

As for 28-year-old Rose, he arrived at St George’s Park with an existing injury and manager Gareth Southgate has chosen to let him return to Spurs for treatment rather than travelling out with the group for the tie against Croatia tonight.
Details of his problem aren’t being specified but the withdrawal wasn’t expected and leads to concern. Described as ‘minor’ let’s hope that’s the case.
