Spurs director in hot water?

Following the seismic news earlier this week regarding the implosion of Juventus, in which their entire boardroom resigned following investigations over their transfer dealings, Managing Director of Football at Tottenham Hotspur Fabio Paratici appears to be in hot water of sorts as part of these investigations.

This evening, several Italian outlets have reported that Paratici, formerly of Juventus of course, along with former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, is the subject of arrest warrants being drawn up by Italian authorities.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport (In Italian) reports that the charges Paratici faces include ‘information rigging’, ‘false corporate communications’ and ‘false invoicing’ during his time at Juventus

Football Italia has also reported that the charges levelled against Paratici include the provision of “false statements, “obstruction of financial authorities” and the conjuring of “false paperwork” during his time at Juventus, while stating that several other Italian outlets are reporting similar misdemeanours on the Spurs man’s part.

Some of you may very well remember that this time last year, Paratici was acquitted of similar charges by the Italian authorities following raised eyebrows towards the deal that saw Juve sign Cristian Romero, and although Juventus’ offices were raided by the Carribinieri as part of the investigation, nothing came of the whole debacle…at the time, at least.

However, given the gravity of the whole situation with Juventus, it remains to be seen how this latest turn of events will transpire, and what the implications will be for Tottenham Hotspur.
