Spurs boss set to resume contract talks with club

|

According to Jack Pitt-Brooke at The Athletic, Antonio Conte is set to re-enter contract talks with the club this week, with the Italian’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Talks were reportedly set to start last week but were delayed due to Sporting Director Fabio Paratici not being available.

The report also states that Conte is seeking assurances from the club on ambition and January transfer plans as the Italian looks to bolster the team’s options in defence and the attacking third (via Football.London)

Conte will hope that the January transfer window sees him receive the same backing he did back in the summer, which saw the club bring in a total of seven players.

There had been previous speculation (via the Daily Mail) that Conte potentially would leave Spurs to take charge of a struggling Juventus side, but the current uncertainty surrounding the Italian giants means any potential move is now off the cards, for the time being.

So, despite splitting opinion amongst certain sections of fans – the Spurs faithful will surely be desperate for the Italian to extend his time in North London, with Conte transforming the Lilywhites ever since arriving at the club last November.
