Portuguese side Braga were beaten in the 90th minute thanks to a goal from Robbie Keane.

Keane was also the man on hand to fire Spurs into the lead, smashing home from the edge of the area after being set up by Aaron Lennon. Lennon turned provider again, a rebound from his shot was pounced on by Malbranque to put Spurs 2-0 up.

Braga, and their Brazilians then staged a comeback. After Paul Robinson had saved Paulo Jorge’s penalty, unfortunately he couldn’t be on hand for the rebound.

Ze Carlos then headed the equaliser on 82 minutes as he got on the end a Castanheira free kick. With the game heading for a draw, Spurs picked up their 2nd last ditch win in as many games as Keane found himself with space to run, and hit one past the Braga keeper to take a 3-2 lead back to White Hart Lane.

Exciting times for Spurs! Sadly a lot of the attention today from the media this morning that I`ve seen has been about Newcastle. I’m sure nobody here will care about them though.

With his comments about the result, heres Robbie: “To score three times away is excellent and we’re confident we can build on that at home.

“We made it difficult for ourselves by conceding two goals but we now fancy our chances back at White Hart Lane.”
