With under 48 hours of the transfer window remaining, Spurs could be set to make their fifth signing of the Summer, with the arrival of Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal from Spanish giants Barcelona.
Tottenham and Barcelona are now close to reach an agreement for Emerson, as per @gbsans. Fee will be around €30m but negotiations are not completed yet ⚪️ #THFC #FCB
Serge Aurier won’t be involved in the deal. Personal terms still to be agreed. NO negotiations for Moriba-Spurs.

The defender, 22, is believed to be wanting to stay in Catalonia, however his club are hoping to complete the deal with Spurs to raise funds following their financial difficulties this year.
Fabio Paratici has offered Emerson a big contract in an attempt to lure him to North London, and his agents are also believed to be confident that a deal will be completed.

With the fee in the region of €30 million, the club are also expected to find a solution for Ivorian right-back Serge Aurier, who has already asked to leave Spurs – as he will not receive any game time whatsoever following the emergence of Japhet Tanganga and back-up option in Matt Doherty.
Last season Emerson was at Real Betis where he scored once and set-up a further four goals in what was another very impressive year for the Brazilian, having spent his time on-loan at the club since making the transfer to Barcelona from Atletico Mineiro in his native country.

He’s an attack minded full-back who possesses superb athleticism but also a number of important defensive qualities that make him a sound defender too.
The arrival would make him the fifth signing of the Summer after Pape Matar Sarr’s transfer from FC Metz, where he will spend the upcoming season on-loan at.
