So the New Year is finally here and Tottenham Hotspur fans were hoping that our opening 2021 game against Leeds United would be some kind of marker for how we would approach the rest of the campaign after recent disappointing results and performances.

Manager Jose Mourinho largely got this one spot on and we more than deserved the win, even if Leeds gave us a helping hand along the way.

29 minutes in Steven Bergwijn was fouled in the box and Harry Kane made no mistake from 12 yards as he gave us the advantage. Two minutes before the break, Kane turned provider and set up Son Heung-Min for his momentous 100th Spurs goal.

Five minutes after the restart Sonny popped up with an assist as Toby Alderweireld made it 3-0 and the game was over.

Matt Doherty late stoppage time sending off for two bookable offences didn’t change the game.

It was the start we all wanted, now to keep it up.
