Sonny Distraught But Not At The Result As Spurs Pick Up A Point From Everton – Match Stats

|

With a somewhat improved performance against Liverpool in our last match, Tottenham Hotspur were back in Merseyside today as we faced off against Marco Silva’s Everton side.

Ahead of the game, manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans were thrown into chaos as Harry Kane was withdrawn from the squad with a reported illness, but it was a chance for Lucas Moura to again show his worth.

It was another troublesome performance when it came to our actual display, it was tight, somewhat niggly – but I guess from a confidence point of view it was always going to be that way. As we went into the final ten minutes of the game, both sides had only had two shots on target, but much maligned Dele Alli made his effort count just after the hour mark to give us the one goal advantage.

Things got a little bit trickier when Son Heung-Min saw a straight red card and left the pitch, and our 27-year-old looked distraught given the injury picked up by Andre Gomes.

Typically the hosts levelled matters up in the seventh minute of stoppage time, so not quite the opportunity for a result we were all hoping for, but Sonny and the injury will take the headlines from this one I imagine.
