Son agrees new four-year contract with Spurs

Korean superstar Heung-Min Son officially put an end to any speculation he could be set to follow in Harry Kane’s footsteps and ask for a transfer away by penning a new four-year deal with Spurs.

Modelling the new home shirt while signing the contract, it was clear that Sonny looked ecstatic to remain at the club and it was also a clear indicator of his loyalty to Spurs and the fans.

Speaking after the announcement, Son said: β€œIt was already a big honour to play here for six years, the Club have showed me massive, massive respect and obviously I’m very happy to be here.

β€œIt’s like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.”

Fabio Paratici, who has been working relentlessly on ways to improve the squad and shift on deadwood, was also very happy with the agreement, saying: β€œWe are pleased to have agreed a new long-term contract with Heung-Min Son as we move towards the start of a new season and a new chapter for the Club with Nuno Espirito Santo.

β€œEveryone can see the real positive impact he has on the Club, both on and off the field, and we are delighted that he will play a part in what we are trying to achieve in the coming years.”

Hopefully the contract extension for Son and the genius appointment of Paratici could be major persuading factors for Kane to stay at the club and give the new era at Spurs and the Nuno Espirito Santo project a chance.
