Serie A Club Weigh Up Move For Tottenham Defender If £70.5m Sale Is Agreed

|

Inter Milan could make a move for Toby Alderweireld if they sell Milan Skriniar this summer, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com).

The Italian newspaper believe the Belgian international is the Serie A club’s “Plan B” if a club matches their €80million (£70.5m) valuation for their Slovakian defender.

Skriniar is the subject of interest from Barcelona and Manchester United, with the latter reportedly having offered €65million for the centre-back.

If United do go after the Inter player, it would likely mean they would withdraw their interest in Toby. The Manchester Evening News reported earlier this month that the Belgian isn’t their top priority this summer, so it would lend some credence to La Gazzetta‘s story.

As the Italian publication points out, such a bid for Skriniar could fund Inter’s pursuit of our no.4. Whatever the case, it is highly speculative reporting at the moment. As long as the 29-year-old remains in the World Cup, there will be no talks about a potential move.
