During the defeat to the Baggies on Saturday, one fan held up a makeshift sign pleading on the club not to sell both Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose in the summer.
The pair started the 1-0 loss at the Hawthorns, and it seems some supporters are hoping they will remain beyond this campaign:

Here is the reaction on Twitter to the sign:
I reckon I could stomach the sale of Rose but we should be doing all we can to retain Toby

Whatever. Let Danny go. Waste of a left back position right now.

I’m sure they won’t be sold. Not after all the trouble that bloke must’ve made to make that sign.

Danny not getting sold because based on today’s performance no one will be buying.

Verdict:
The situation around Toby is a difficult one. The fact that he hasn’t signed a new contract means the summer is the only time the club can really cash in on him. If he is going to go, Pochettino is within his rights to play other players who have a long-term future at the club.
With Danny, the issue is slightly different. The full-back has had a number of injury setbacks and has lost his first team place to Ben Davies as a consequence. The player has a deal that runs until 2021 so there are no concerns on the contract side of things.
It could be that he needs to show Poch that he can recapture his form prior to his knee problems in order to ensure he remains at the club.
