“See you soon lads”, “Stay safe” – These Spurs fans forced to say farewell to club’s key duo

These Tottenham Hotspur fans reacted to the news that both Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn have been permitted to return to their respective countries.

The club made the announcement on their official website that they both will head to South Korea and Holland to be around their families during the coronavirus pandemic which has crippled the UK.

All Premier League matches have been postponed until at least April 30th due to the illness. Medical experts believe that the virus has yet to peak in the UK, which led to Prime Minister Boris Johnson to put the country into a nationwide lockdown until further notice.

Will the Premier League be concluded this season?

Yes

No

If true, then the season could be put back again as we all await the return of football to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sooner rather than later, but in a way where health and safety is guaranteed.

With this in mind, supporters wished both players farewell and made their feelings clear towards them on social media. One fan, as did many, hope that the pair “stay safe”, while another simply said, “see you soon lads”.
