Rose – “The Board Must Listen To The Manager” & Keep Him With Spurs For The Future

|

Tottenham Hotspur and England left back Danny Rose isn’t slow when it comes to coming forward with his views on football, and he’s now publicly called on the Spurs Board to back manager Mauricio Pochettino as he looks to open a new chapter at the club.

With Pochettino making no secret of his desire for change in the way we operate so we lose the tag of overachievers in the battle at the top of the Premier League table, and the fact that he believes this is now the right time to do so given we are back at our new White Hart Lane Stadium and have enjoyed incredible success in the Champions League, Rose was talking to Talksport recently and as well as heaping huge praise on the Argentine for the work he’s done at Spurs over the last few years, he agreed, it was now time he was fully backed.

“The board must listen to the manager. He said recently that he needs to know what the next chapter of the club is. I fully agree with everything he says. Not many people could operate in the circumstances that he’s done. We had no stadium, we’ve not signed anybody. Tottenham are part of the big six in the Premier League and we have a different way of working. Not many managers would have been able to do what Mauricio has done, in terms of securing Champions League football four years in a row and finishing second, third and fourth.”

Now fans will debate whether a player should be speaking publicly on these kinds of issues at a club, but I don’t imagine they’ll be much debate when it comes to whether or not Pochettino should now be backed over the summer.
