Report: Tottenham linked with Giovani Lo Celso’s £22.8m teammate

|

Despite Tottenham being in talks with Real Betis to sign Giovani Lo Celso, Estadio Deportivo believe the Lilywhites are also interested in his teammate – Victor Camarasa. The 25-year-old has been linked with Spurs all summer, but no official bid has been made. It’s hard to see Tottenham adding to their midfield after Tanguy Ndombele’s arrival too.

That’s not to say Camarasa wouldn’t be a good addition, however. The former Spain u21 international made 33 appearances on loan at Cardiff City last season and contributed nine goals. Camarasa amassed 2579 minutes of Premier League football, created 50 chances, made 34 successful dribbles (55%) and averaged a tackle (28) or interception (33) every 42 minutes.

Mauricio Pochettino has Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Oliver Skipp at his disposal in the engine room, however, and may not need another addition. The only midfielder Tottenham are interested in is Lo Celso, not his 25-year-old teammate with a £22.8m release clause.

Daniel Levy is locked in negotiations for Lo Celso and has offered Betis £23m less than they’ve requested. It’s hard to see him signing a player that Tottenham don’t need who wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting place in 2019/20.
