Tottenham have joined the growing list of clubs interested in Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy following from a weekend where the 23-year-old bagged a brace against PSG.

The Daily Mail report that Spurs will compete with Aston Villa, Celtic and Leicester City for the French striker, with Guirassy impressing for Amiens this season as stats from WhoScored show with the youngster scoring eight goals this campaign.

Guirassy made headlines this weekend when the former France U-20 forward scored twice against European giants PSG, with the attacker netting Amiens opener and then in the 91st minute to cap off a thrilling fixture at Stade de la Licrone.

Tottenham have been searching for a striker since Harry Kane was ruled out till April after tearing his hamstring, whilst this week’s news of Heung-min Son’s injury has added more pressure from Jose Mourinho for not signing a centre-forward in last month’s transfer window.

Yet Guirassy could be an ideal solution in the summer for Spurs in their quest to find a backup striker with Troy Parrott seemingly not ready yet for the leap up to first-team football as Jose Mourinho revealed this week, and Tottenham will have to move fast if they are to sign up the Amiens star.

With some big-name clubs also chasing the 23-year-old, Tottenham face some tough competition from teams who have the advantage of being willing to offer Guirassy first-team football whilst the attacker will likely be second-fiddle to Kane should he sign, and although this might not be ideal for the striker, Spurs’ need for a backup could be enough to persuade the Frenchman to join the north London club.
