Report Suggests Spurs Have Made The Week Worse For Arsenal Fans

|

St Etienne centre-half William Saliba has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and the Emirates Stadium on the rumour mill this summer, but claims in France have now suggested that Tottenham Hotspur have jumped in and ‘outbid’ them in an effort to secure his signature.

The Daily Record were leaning on reports on Friday from outlet RMC, which had claimed that St Etienne chiefs would be meeting up on Saturday to discuss our apparent bid.

With the reported discussions between them and Arsenal, it’s further suggested that we have gone ‘above and beyond’ their original demands in our attempt to steal a march on his capture and it had been reported previously that Arsenal had struck agreement at 30million Euros.

However, that deal was said to include a loan back arrangement and the expectation is we’ll have offered the same, so he would be a capture for the summer of 2020/21 and the 18-year-old Frenchman would continue his development and gain experience in Ligue 1 for the coming campaign.

With Laurent Koscielny’s strop, it’s shaping up to potentially be a bad week for Unai Emery.
