Report: Spurs to capitalise on partnership to sign prodigy keen to ‘become a legend’ in football

Tottenham are set to return to PSV in the transfer market as Spurs eye a move for teenager defender Nawaaz Landfeld.

According to The Sun, the north London club have set their eyes on the 16-year-old left-back who has impressed for PSV’s youth side this season as per the report, with Landfeld also featuring as a centre-back this season for the Dutch giants at academy level.

The left-back position is an area of the pitch that is likely to be under heavy construction in the summer transfer window with Danny Rose looking certain to leave Tottenham in the off-season with the England international currently out on loan at Newcastle United as well as Ben Davies’ injury problems continuing to cause selection problems for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Will Rose leave Tottenham next summer?

Yes

No

And Tottenham could be in a good position to get a deal done for Landfeld, with Spurs conducting business with PSV in the January transfer window for the signing of Steven Bergwijn, who has so far proven to be a fine addition for the north London club with the Dutch international starring in his debut against Manchester City.

Although Landfeld is yet to make his first-team debut for PSV, the defender has garnered enough excitement to make himself a target for Tottenham this summer, with the defender appearing as a confident individual as seen in an interview with Voetbal Primeur as the teenager stated that he is aiming to ‘become a legend’ in the game.

Spurs will likely undergo big changes in the summer transfer window with Mourinho seemingly keen on adding new faces to the squad in an attempt to transition the team away from still looking like Mauricio Pochettino’s, and Landfeld could be an exciting addition for the future, with the Dutch youngster playing in a role that Tottenham require improving in.
