Report: Spurs prospect who needs to get ‘as fit as possible’ to return from loan after one goal

|

Tottenham youngster Kazaiah Sterling is set to return to the club following a failed loan spell at League One side Doncaster Rovers which has seen the striker’s time under Darren Moore plagued with injuries.

Football Insider report that the 21-year-old’s season-loan deal with the Donny is set to come to an end after Sterling failed to nail down a first-team spot with the League One club, with The Doncaster Free Press backing up this claim by reporting that Rovers will exercise a break clause in the deal.

Manager Moore also spoke about what the best thing to do for Sterling is, with the former West Brom boss admitting that the promising attacker needs to work on recovering to full fitness rather than playing regular minutes.

Would Dzeko Make Sense In January?

Yes

No

Moore said to The Doncaster Free Press: “The best thing for Kaz is to just get himself as fit as possible as soon as he can. The scan showed it’s (Sterling’s leg) not healed much more. And with him being all about explosive power and pace, it would be the wrong thing for him to try to train on it now.”

Sterling’s time at Doncaster has been disappointing, to say the least, with stats from Transfermarkt showing that the promising attacker has only managed just one goal for Rovers in just over 100 minutes of first-team football.

Indeed, the Spurs academy graduate has not played a minute of football since early September after Sterling was dragged off at half-time against Rotherham after handing the Millers the opening goal of the game in which Doncaster went on to win 2-1.

His injury has done little to help him return to the first-team, and a return to Tottenham to return to fitness as well as scout out another loan move will seemingly be the best thing for Sterling to do.
