Report: Latest update on future of Belgian midfield maestro is good news for Spurs fans

|

One of the best Premier League signings in the January transfer window, it’s fair to say Youri Tielemans’ stock has risen considerably since he joined Leicester. The midfielder was a shadow of himself at AS Monaco and was one of the scapegoats of their disastrous start to the season in France, but returned to form at the King Power Stadium.

Recent reports have suggested we’re very much interested in convincing him to join us this summer, and the latest update is good news for Spurs fans.

Ahead of his Belgium side’s clash against Kazakhstan on June 8, Tielemans revealed he is ‘flattered’ by the interest shown in him, and that his future will be decided in the imminent future.

He said (via Sky Sports): “We’ll see which club it will be. The only thing I can say is things are moving.

“A lot of clubs have shown interest. We will see in the next few weeks who it will be. Yes [I am flattered by Man Utd and Spurs interest], they are really big teams in England and in Europe.

“To hear those names gives me confidence. I just try to play my game on the pitch and try my best.”

The Belgian was one of the standout performers in Brendan Rodgers’ side last season, and along with the Foxes, United are also said to be keen on him. If we can get a deal over the line for the 22-year-old, then, we would have a quality midfielder on our hands.
