Report: French international wants to stay at Tottenham, bad news for Inter Milan

|

According to Goal (h/t Calciomercato), Moussa Sissoko has no plans to leave Tottenham despite interest from Inter Milan. The 29-year-old has been outstanding for Spurs this season and finds himself the subject of interest as a result of his upturn in form.

Sissoko has made 29 appearances in all competitions and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet. He averages 46 passes-per-game (86.7% accuracy), has created 16 chances and has made 25 successful dribbles. The French international can turn defence into attack with lung-busting runs and provides protection at the back due to his high levels of industry.

He’s made a total of 110 appearances since joining Spurs from Newcastle United in 2016 and has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal. He’ll turn 30 in August, but Tottenham are unlikely to let him go due to his important role under Mauricio Pochettino.

The report doesn’t state Inter’s intentions, other than the fact they’re showing an interest in the midfielder so it’s hard to take the rumour seriously. Sissoko won’t be put up for sale this summer due to his fine form, his willingness to stay and a lack of depth in the engine room, so Inter might have to turn their attentions elsewhere.
