Report: Fenerbahce considering a move for £34k-per-week Tottenham man

|

Vincent Janssen is expected to leave Tottenham after finding himself on the periphery under Mauricio Pochettino. The 24-year-old has struggled for form and playing time since his move to England and is up for sale this summer.

Janssen has been recently linked with Lokomotiv Moscow, but Sabah say Fenerbahce are now in the race for his signature. The £34k-per-week centre-forward made only three appearances last season and failed to score.

Janssen hasn’t scored a goal for Tottenham since April 15, 2017. He’s also only made four appearances for Spurs since May 2017. With Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Fernando Llorente ahead of him in the pecking order, Janssen clearly doesn’t have a future at the club.

Despite his woes in the last two years, Fenerbahce are still considering a move. Janssen played for the Turkish Super Lig outfit in 2017/18 and scored five goals in 18 appearances. With Fener in need of a No.9 next season, Janssen finds himself on a list containing Vedat Muriqi and Max Kruse.

Tottenham paid £17m for the 24-year-old’s signature in 2016 but could accept considerably less money this summer. A bid of around £10m might be enough to sign Janssen, but time will tell if Fener make an official approach.
