Report Claims To Know Spurs’ Shopping List Order – Lyon, Then Leeds & Fulham – But I Doubt It

With the summer transfer rumour mill strongly linking Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino with having a desire to snare both Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke, recent speculation has focused more on the 22-year-old Ndombele.

Stories have been mixed on the speculation as outlets said we had already agreed terms with him, whilst not agreeing a fee with his French club, but then we saw claims that we hadn’t yet made any kind of formal offers.

The Sun have ramped up the speculation this week and claimed that Ndombele remains our top target and that we have now ‘launched’ a £60million offer for his services as we look to beat off competition from the likes of Manchester City and United.

It’s not a normal Sun report in fairness, they actually quote a source at Lyon as saying they ‘believe Tottenham are serious about pursuing a deal for Ndombele this window’.

The report goes on to claim that with him being our top target to replace Moussa Dembele, we are putting all our efforts into that deal and will only firm up the reported interest in Leeds United’s Jack Clarke and then Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon after we have completed this chase and they think that’s a sensible plan.

I’m not sure I believe that to be honest, Spurs are more than capable of handling one transfer deal at a time (as are all clubs), so whilst the Lyon source is technically a step forward the rest simply reads as an opportunity to rehash old links.
