Report Claims Spurs Will Battle Roma For 25 y/o’s Signature

|

It’s been quite an interesting and busy week on the Tottenham Hotspur rumour mill and although Real Madrid have featured heavily both in terms of incomings and potential outgoings, there was a new name doing the rounds in recent days – Mariano Diaz.

The speculation was loose at best really but AS were one outlet to give us a namecheck and suggest White Hart Lane as a possible destination as we continue to search for a replacement to Fernando Llorente to provide cover for Harry Kane.

Having spent the 2017/18 season out with French side Lyon, Real Madrid used their buy-back clause last summer – 23million Euros – to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu but given his age at 25-year’s-old his senior experience is very poor.

Spurs naturally aren’t the only side linked with him and although it appears he has an eye for goal during his youth career and the spell in France, given the price I would expect Real to demand here I just can’t see that he’d be worth it from our point of view.

It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong on transfer speculation though.
