With Philippe Coutinho reportedly rejecting a move to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday afternoon, it didn’t take the press long to suggest that our immediate reaction to that had been to increase our offer to Sporting Lisbon for often speculated target Bruno Fernandes.

Dybala Talks Continue But Spurs’ Other Transfer Dream Is Over

Reports about our apparent interest in the 24-year-old Portuguese international have long been all over the place but before the day came to a close, the Daily Mail were reporting that a third bid of £60million had been rejected by his club, as they continue to hold out for £65million.

They broke the deal down as being 55million Euros upfront, with 10million Euros in add-ons based on his performance for us.

Given he does appear to be a top target for manager Mauricio Pochettino plenty will point to the £5million difference as being nothing in reality, but it’s also equally fair to question whether the Mail should be believed in their claims as one of the writer claimed only yesterday that our interest in him had gone ‘cold’.
