One of the regular stories on the summer transfer rumour mill for Tottenham Hotspur has been our supposed chase of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The 24-year-old Portuguese international seems to tick a lot of boxes when it comes to the type of player that manager Mauricio Pochettino would be interested in, but naturally we aren’t the only club linked and Manchester United continue to feature prominently in the reports.

A recent update, if you can call it that, came from outlet O Jogo and they claimed that on Friday morning the player held a meeting with the club’s Sporting Director Hugo Viana, where he restated his desire for Premier League football this year, and from the translation I’m reading, it seems to suggest his preference would be White Hart Lane.

I’m really not sure that this is anything other than a rehash of the earlier claims, but with the transfer window coming to an end this Thursday, surely we’ll see further movement in the coming days.
