Report Claims Italian Side Join European Giants In Chase For Spurs Starlet

|

Over the weekend some bizarre reports began emerging on the newsfeeds suggesting that Italian giants Juventus were now sniffing around extremely highly rated Tottenham Hotspur Academy prospect, Troy Parrott.

17-year-old Parrott’s rise at the club has been well documented by plenty, and stepping up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 group during the September international break, in two games he helped himself to three goals which more than proves his potential – if that needed proving.

With most believing it’s only a matter of time before manager Mauricio Pochettino gives him some senior minutes given his training involvement and pre-season runouts, most eyes are on the Olympiakos clash, or next week’s EFL Cup third round tie with Colchester United.

In any event, it seems Italian outlet Calcio Mercato have caught up with his promise, and they namecheck Juventus alongside the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as potentially being in the race for his services.

It is a speculative piece at best, and just namechecks the usual Robbie Keane, Harry Kane comparisons to give it weight, so I don’t think Spurs fans should be worried here as the clubs listed are simply those we faced in pre-season during the International Champions Cup and Audi Cup, so it strikes me as a little lazy.
