Report: AS Monaco decide whether to sign £35k-per-week Tottenham man

|

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou endured a nightmarish season and has an uncertain future this summer. The £35k-per-week Tottenham winger spent the second half of 2018/19 on loan at AS Monaco, but the Ligue 1 side have opted against turning his move permanent after his underwhelming stint at the Stade Louis II.

N’Koudou struggled for form, fitness and playing time at Monaco, making just three appearances before spending the remainder of the campaign out with a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old had hoped to recapture some form in his home country, but he returns to Tottenham in even worse shape than when he left.

The former French u21 international joined Spurs from Olympique Marseille in 2016 and has gone on to make 26 appearances in all competitions. N’Koudou has amassed only 590 minutes of playing time, however, and has been loaned out to Burnley (January 9, 2018 – May 31, 2018) and Monaco (January 31, 2019 – June 30, 2019) in the last 18 months as he’s fallen down the pecking order.

Tottenham wanted £10m for the wide-man in 2018, but it’s hard to see any suitor paying near that figure this summer as N’Koudou made just six appearances in 2018/19, totalling 141 minutes of football.
