Ben Davies has given a positive injury update on Instagram after his surgery on a hernia, revealing that his “recovering is going well”. The 26-year-old delayed going under the knife at the end of the season to play in the Champions League final for Tottenham and European Championship qualifiers for Wales.
Davies is working hard to speed up his return so he’s 100% for the start of Tottenham’s pre-season. He played second fiddle to Danny Rose at left-back but still made an impressive 40 appearances in all competitions and is trusted by Mauricio Pochettino.
The Welsh international featured in nine Champions League games in 2018/19, including both legs in the semi-finals. Davies could become an even more important player next season if Rose does move on from Spurs this summer, so Pochettino will be desperate to have him back to full fitness.
In his latest video in Instagram, the left-back didn’t appear to be struggling with any pain from the surgery and is now working on his overall conditioning. He’s kept supporters updated on his progress thus far, initially posting a picture from the hospital bed after his operation earlier in June, and should continue to keep fans abreast with news about his ongoing rehabilitation.
