Thursday morning saw the release of the fixtures for the coming 2019/20 Premier League campaign and I think optimism will be quite high amongst fans given the way the fixtures are spread.

With another top four finish achieved by manager Mauricio Pochettino despite our lack of strengthening, the injuries we suffered and as we took a journey to the Champions League Final, fans are naturally hoping for a good summer on a transfer front so we can close the gap even further at the top of the table and really push for silverware.

The campaign kicks off at White Hart Lane as we welcome newly promoted Aston Villa back to the Premier League (with Sky’s cameras) and August is pretty tough with Manchester City and Arsenal on the cards.

With Manchester United, Wolves and Chelsea in December that will be a more tricky spell, as will February, but otherwise on paper at least, the fixtures are nicely spread, so I see no reason for confidence as we have a couple of good runs of what would be considered winnable games.

With fixture release day always whetting the appetite of fans as the new season nears, it’s all eyes back to transfers now.

So Vital Spurs, allowing for the games that are yet to be inevitably moved by the television cameras are you happy with that, or do you think the fixture computer could’ve been kinder to us?
