Pundit Names “Late Window Deal” Spurs Fans Should Be Keeping Their Eyes On

|

The summer transfer rumour mill has been frantic at Tottenham Hotspur this summer with suggested incomings and outgoings, but our own plans stepped up a gear massively last week as we announced the double capture of Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele and pundit Danny Mills continues to believe we have an interest in Everton left-back Lucas Digne.

Everton Star Confirms He’s Aware Of Interest – Is This A Come & Get Me Moment For Spurs

Speculation linking Spurs with an interest in the 25-year-old French international has been long-standing this window and we’ve had everything from a straight cash deal suggested down to a potential loan swap involving Danny Rose.

The former Barcelona player certainly made his mark in the top flight last season and the expectation is he’ll simply get better in the years to come and having been signed for a reported £18million, plenty believe he’s now in the ballpark of £40million and Mills is no different.

“He has been brilliant. He’s now worth £40million, more than double what they paid. He is technically very good, excellent going forward and knows how to defend. He’s going to get even better as he gets more used to the Premier League.”

The former Leeds United fullback also continues to believe that our interest in the player is real, even though the speculation has been less than concrete, and he feels it’s a deal that will spark to life late on in the window if we get a bite or two on Rose.

“The merry-go-round has been given a big push by the Ndombele and Clarke deals, and I’m expecting Tottenham to be busy for the rest of the window. There is talk of Lucas Digne going to Tottenham to replace Danny Rose if he leaves. There could be something in that, and it’s one to keep an eye on as a late window deal.”

Despite the speculation though there are definitely those Spurs fans who don’t expect Rose to be going anywhere this summer and that instantly casts doubt on this deal, regardless of how much I like Digne.
