Potential summer headache for Tottenham appears to have been avoided in good time – Opinion

|

According to a report by TRT Spor (via Kramponlu Pisagor on Twitter), Vincent Janssen is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and re-join Fenerbache.

There is no talk as to whether the deal is a temporary one or if the two sides have managed to agree to a permanent transfer, however, it is surely one that we are pleased has happened.

It will be interesting to see if we do receive a transfer fee for him, as it would certainly help boost our budget for new acquisitions this summer. But we wish him all the best of luck with the move back to Istanbul.

The forward was nothing more than an unfortunate flop for us, as he only managed to score twice in his 27 Premier League appearances in his debut campaign, and things never improved for him, did they?

A loan spell at Fenerbache proved difficult as well because of injury, but it seems as though he did enough for them to take a chance on him once again – which in turn has helped ease any potential summer headache we might have.

Despite making a couple of appearances towards the end of the campaign, Janssen was never going to have a future with us. The fact that he was sent on holiday before the Champions League Final was a clear sign of that (Football.London).

But the idea that we would be able to offload him easily would not have been something that was in our minds – in other terms, we would not have been holding our breath on an easy transfer happening. However, it appears that potential problem has been avoided this summer and Pochettino will have a slightly easier task on his hands.
