Potential bidding war incoming for African midfielder

|

As was the case last January, one player Spurs were linked with earlier today was 26-year-old anchorman Sofyane Amrabat of Fiorentina, currently on international duty in the Qatar World Cup with Morocco.

You can read about these Amrabat links here, and about the competition we’ll potentially face for his services from another Premier League outfit here.

It turns out that Amrabat is not the only Moroccan in Qatar that Spurs are keeping tabs on. Another familiar name, and apparently, another previous target who did not materialise, is that of Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech.

Indeed, the Evening Standard reported back on deadline day in August that Spurs had emerged as viable candidates to take Ziyech’s off Chelsea’s hands, but talks broke down, and the Moroccan was left unhappily stranded in West London.

Earlier this week, Football.london reported that a bidding war for the creative Moroccan’s signature would likely commence come the new year, with AC Milan heavily interested in Ziyech’s services.

The report has stated that the powers that be at AC Milan are contemplating whether to launch a 6-month loan bid for Ziyech this winter, with a £13 million option to buy in the summer.

Now where Spurs will harbour the advantage over the Rossoneri is our presumable ability to offer a heftier pay package to the 29-year-old, with the same report from Football.London reporting that the Milanese outfit are struggling to wrap their heads around Ziyech’s current annual wage of  £5.2 million.

Whether or not we make a move for Ziyech remains to be seen, but if it were to happen, it would certainly please a former member of Spurs’ contingent in Rafa van der Vaart, who went as far as to say that if Spurs were to land the Moroccan, they could win the league!

All these new thread in the last few hours and not a single person reading them except the world’s most stubborn man. How does it feel to be all alone, a complete unknown, like a bloody rolling rock that hasn’t been in the fridge? (Rolling Rock is a popular beer in Pennsylvania.) Okay, Like a Rolling Stone. Drink with a Scottish scone. Maybe a bit of Marmite?

should I be preparing a eulogy for the site?
