Pochettino Rules Out Move For Free Agent

|

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out a move for former Manchester United attacker Guiseppe Rossi.

With Harry Kane’s enforced spell on the sidelines being a massive blow to our hopes for the season, the January rumour mill has hit overdrive when it comes to potential replacements for our England man. Especially as we are missing Son Heung-Min for a few weeks as well with him out on international duty once again.

I’m not sure where the speculation concerning Rossi came from, but questions were obviously asked in his pre-game press conference ahead of this Sunday’s clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage, and the gaffer was quoted by Sky Sports as admitting we have no interest despite our depleted numbers.

“There are many names that appear in every transfer window. I think he is another name to add on the list but it is only a rumour. We have not considered him. It’s a rumour like another but if you ask me, I think no, it’s not a possibility.”

At 31-years-old, I don’t think it’s overly critical to say that Rossi doesn’t really have a great goalscoring record across his career as I look at his statistics so he probably wouldn’t be an answer, even on a short-term basis, so I certainly wouldn’t expect anything to come of this.
