Pochettino Finds His Humour With Double Spurs Success

|

With the wheels falling off Tottenham Hotspurs’ hopeful Premier League title push this season following back to back defeats against Burnley and Chelsea, most eyes are on this weekend’s London derby with Arsenal as we look to get ourselves back on track.

The annual London Football Awards took place last night and it proved to be a good distraction for the club as manager Mauricio Pochettino picked up Manager of the Year and attacker Son Heung-Min helped himself to London’s Premier League Player of the Year.

Given our disappointing week on the pitch and all the wrangling that has come from that with frustrations coming to the fore and the expected criticism taking over in some quarters, Pochettino was quoted by Sky Sports as saying the following when he lifted his gong.

“Like some people joke before – finally I got a trophy! It is a great honour for me, of course. Always an award means a lot for everyone and I want to say thank you to the foundation and of course for these London awards.”

Sonny said of his own award.

“It means a lot. Without team mates, I can’t win such a trophy. For me it is very special, and I want to say thank you to my team mates, the coaching staff and the gaffer.”

Harry Kane was also up for the player gong.
