According to a report by Il Secolo XIX (via Calciomercato), Tottenham Hotspur have already prepared to make their first official offer for Joachim Andersen.

Although there is no amount disclosed within the report, it is a move that would benefit Spurs almost immediately and should certainly be one they look to get over the line.

The Danish centre-back has had an impressive campaign for Sampdoria this season and has been a key member of the team.

We have had plenty of success in the past when it comes down to signing defenders, with the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth all having excelled.

And, there would be no reason as to why Andersen could not replicate their success in the side.

The 23-year-old is comfortable with the ball and is able to make some excellent passes from out the back, which would clearly suit our style of play. He has the speed and aerial ability that makes him an excellent modern-day defender.

Andersen could prove to become an excellent replacement for Alderweireld this summer, should the Belgium international decide to leave this summer.

It has widely been reported that his future remains in the air as he is available in the current transfer window for just £25million (Football.London), which is surely going to make him an incredibly attractive option for a number of clubs and make our task of trying to keep him that much harder.

Bringing Andersen in could help to fill in that void should Alderweireld leave, whilst it would mean Tottenham would have someone that could have a huge future at the club.
