Here’s how the players ranked:

Manager Rating- 7

With the side currently struggling with injuries, the Italian’s options were limited but it was good to see Conte give more minutes to Sarr, after his impressive cameo (read here) at Palace. The only criticism I have of Conte’s decisions today would have been that he should have started Spence over Royal.

Fraser Forster- 6

Hard to give Forster a rating today as he had barely anything to do, however when he was called into action in the first-half, he calmly saved Hackett-Fairchild’s flying volley.

Emerson Royal- 5

You would have thought the Brazilian would have stood out against League One opposition but that simply wasn’t the case. Despite hitting the post in the second half he offered barely anything down the right-hand flank.

Japhet Tanganga- 7

After struggling against Brentford on Boxing Day, the defender was much more assured today, looking much more confident on the ball.

Davinson Sanchez- 7

Dealt well with all that Portsmouth offered, using his experience to marshall the Pompey strikers.

Ben Davies- 7

Battled with Bishop most of the afternoon and kept the forward quiet all afternoon. Also looked decent on the ball when he roamed forward.

Ryan Sessegnon- 5

Sessegnon is no doubt one of Tottenham’s most frustrating players, he seems frightened to take on his man and you would have thought he would have had the confidence to do so against League One opposition. He however did grab an assist, with his one-two with Kane leading to the striker’s goal.

Pape Matar Sarr- 7

He seemed to start the game a bit nervous, making a few wayward passes early on. He did however improve as the game went on, having a good tempo to his play. He also looked good when he took players on, drifting past a few Pompey men.

Oliver Skipp- 6

Skippy was a late change to the starting line-up with Bissouma being injured in the warm-up. The midfielder should have arguably been on the scoresheet, as he skied his effort from close range in the second half.

Bryan Gil- 7

An impressive display from the Spaniard. He seems much more confident, constantly looking to dribble and take on players.

Heung-Min Son- 6

Son would have hoped to carry on his goalscoring run from Wednesday, but looked very off the pace, blazing a few shots over the bar.

Harry Kane- 8

Once again Kane was the difference today with his clinical finish breaking the deadlock. He was pretty quiet in the first half but grew into the game when he started to get more space.

Subs:

Djed Spence- 5

Alfie Devine- 5
