Paul Robinson says of the goal,
‘I was kind of watching it, but I thought I was going to get moaned at by the strikers for over-hitting the free-kick. It was just one of those things – a freak goal. It was, but out of respect for Ben I didn’t want to run off celebrating looking like I meant it. It was a difficult one, I obviously didn’t mean to do it, and it is about how he bounces back. He has got to be strong, although his defence didn’t help him out and I have watched it on video.’
‘People might question him, but it was just a freak. It is fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for it to happen at a better place. It was a crucial time in the game at 1-0 so I was happy it did. It took a long time to get going, the gaffer made a few changes which took a little while to gel, but we got the right result in the end.’
This is his second goal, he also scored a header against Swindon in 2003. Who needs Berbatov?!?
He also says on the game tonight, ‘I am optimistic, we’ve played them twice this season and won one and drew one. I fancy our chances against anybody here. It is another big night, a big game, which means we must be doing well.’
