According to the Mirror, Tottenham are interested in Max Aarons and could make a move for the Norwich City defender when the season comes to a close. Aarons has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea as a result of his fine form in the Championship, but the Mirror say Spurs are leading the race for his signature.
Norwich are reported to have slapped a £15m price tag on the 19-year-old which could interest Tottenham if they can make up the funds by offloading an existing player. Mauricio Pochettino has Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier at his disposal at right-back and may look to axe the latter to make way for a new arrival.
Aurier finds himself behind Trippier in the pecking order, making only five Premier League starts this season. The 26-year-old hasn’t managed to nail down a starting place since his 2017-move from Paris Saint-Germain, so he may be considering his own future over the summer.
Unless Tottenham were to loan Aarons back to Norwich after signing him, he’d be expected to play a part in their first-team next season. There may be too much competition for places, but nothing has been confirmed with Aarons so Pochettino doesn’t have a selection headache to worry about just yet.
