Opinion: Tottenham will be relishing the perfect comeback at the end of the international break

|

The current state of affairs at Tottenham is putting the Lilywhites in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are struggling massively at the moment, as they languish in 14th in the Premier League and sit a massive 11 points away from the top four.

However, as much as getting back on track will not be easy, they have to start somewhere. It must be said that the current November international break has come at the worst possible time, but after the Lilywhites have returned from playing for their countries, they face the perfect challenge.

When club football returns, Tottenham fans face the challenge of going away to West Ham United. It won’t be an easy clash by any means, but West Ham are struggling and are even lower in the Premier League than Spurs, yet this clash is always a fiery one.

It will provide both sides with the chance to turn their form around, and for Tottenham fans, who have struggled as of late, provided that the majority of their squad can return from international duty injury-free and ready to go, Pochettino should be able to set his side up to take all three points from the Hammers.

Tottenham’s form has been poor, but they’ve lost just once in their last six games, whilst West Ham United have won only once in their last nine outings, and with Spurs getting the chance to go into a high-pressure game with bragging rights on the line, they can get a much-needed win and regain some form all in one fell swoop.

Is Pochettino still the right man for Tottenham Hotspur?

Yes, absolutely!

No way, Poch out

It won’t at all be an easy clash – these trips never are – but if the Lilywhites can make it four straight wins away at West Ham then it would be the perfect building block for them to use to kick on from and find their feet before eventually rising up the Premier League table.
