Opinion: Levy can prove his brilliance with bold Tottenham transfer

|

Tottenham fans have seen plenty of examples of Daniel Levy’s excellence in the market, but he could be about to outdo himself. The coy businessman is working on a move that would see Ryan Sessegnon sign for Spurs, yet he could mastermind two departures to Fulham in the process.

According to The Telegraph, Fulham are going to look to invest some of the money that get from Sessegnon into signing two Tottenham players in the form of unwanted duo Josh Onomah and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, something that if Levy pulls off he will be hailed a genius for.

Neither N’Koudou nor Onomah have a future at Tottenham, that much is obvious, but should Levy manage to offload the pair of them in the same deal that sees Sessegnon arrive, shaving some of the transfer fee off, then it will truly be a masterstroke.

No one is expecting either of Onomah or N’Koudou to dramatically turn their fortunes around and make themselves heroes at the club anytime soon, and with the pair both left at home to find new clubs whilst the rest of the Spurs squad are on tour, it looks like selling them to Fulham is the right move.

Tottenham and Levy are expected to be selling a number of players this summer, with Kieran Trippier already gone, Danny Rose is expected to follow and now the news has broken that a further two could be on their way.

This marks Spurs’ busiest window in a very long time, and should the Lilywhites get their man in Sessegnon whilst the two unwanted players leave for Craven Cottage and Championship football then Daniel Levy will have well and truly played a blinder for the Lilywhites.

It won’t be time for the club to shut up shop should they get this through either. There is still time for the more business to be done, and the fans will be calling for one or two new signings before the window slams shut.
