Opinion: 23 y/o Tottenham are ‘lurking’ around would be a quality addition for Pochettino

According to a report by CalcioNapoli24, Tottenham Hotspur are still thought to be keen on signing PSV Eindhoven’s Hirving Lozano this summer.

It is claimed we are still ‘lurking’ around in the race for the Mexico international’s signature with Barcelona and Manchester United, whilst Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be heavily interested in the winger.

The 23-year-old took the World Cup by storm last summer and he did not let his appearances fall below a certain standard following the conclusion of the tournament as he continued to be a real threat for PSV throughout their campaign – having netted 21 goals whilst he provided his team-mates with 12 assists in 40 matches across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Lozano is an incredible talent with the ball at his feet, as he has a wide range of passing ability, whilst his skill dribbling with the ball makes him a nightmare for defenders, as does his pin-point crosses into the penalty area – the likes of Harry Kane would thrive on those quality balls into the box.

He is blessed with pace and power, whilst he also has the ability to create space for himself when there does not appear to be any on the pitch at times, creating an outlet for his team-mates to use should they run out of ideas moving forward or play themselves into trouble.

Although he is predominantly a winger, the Mexican can also play in a more central role, which could make him an excellent cover option for Kane should our star need to spend time on the treatment table.

Lozano, perhaps, is the type of player that would be able to take us to the next level and finally help us get our hands on silverware. Considering that he is still only 23-years-old, ‘Chucky’ has plenty of time in his career and would still benefit be in a position to benefit from the guidance that Mauricio Pochettino can provide him moving forward.
