One Youngster In – One Out At Spurs?

Spurs are apparently winning the race for Southampton’s young left-back Gareth Bale.

Bale, who is one of several highly prized youngsters in the Southampton academy, recently became Wales’ youngest ever international at the tender age of 16.

Several other clubs including Liverpool are also said to be tracking the player who Wales U21 boss called a ‘Rolls Royce’ player. Although Southampton are keen on keeping the player, they know if the right offer comes in, the temptation of the Premiership – plus much needed funds – will usually tempt the player and club.

In other news Premiership new boys Watford have signed 18-year-old striker Claude Seanla from Spurs. Seanla was part of the Spurs academy last season but now will now enjoy a professional contract with the Hornets. Sky Sports say: The Ivory Coast born youngster can play either as a left midfielder or a striker and was prolific for Tottenham’s youth setup last season.
