One Worthy Winner For Tottenham’s Inaugural Legends’ Prize

|

Across the 2018/19 campaign as Tottenham Hotspur were hit with numerous injury problems, a few players stepped up brightly and upped their performance levels to see us through games, but most would agree none more so than Moussa Sissoko.

Although Son Heung-Min rightly steals the headlines for many given his goalscoring and assists across the year as we secured top four and booked our route through to the Champions League Final against Liverpool, Sissoko’s influence in the middle of the park has been clear for all to see.

With serious question marks over his head following his arrival from Newcastle United for £30million, we have undoubted seen the very best of his this year and his impact as a substitute in the Ajax tie summed up his season in many ways as we got a foothold back in the game.

On Tuesday, the inaugural Tottenham Hotspur Legends’ Player of the Season award was announced and our former players who work behind the scenes on matchdays handed the prize to Sissoko.

Speaking to the Official Site, he said of the award.

“I’m very proud, very happy and it’s a real honour to receive this trophy from the Legends of the Club. With the careers these Legends have had, to receive this trophy from them is something very special and I’m very happy with that – thanks to them 100 times! If they’ve enjoyed what I’ve done this year I’m very pleased and I will try to keep going in the same way, especially on Saturday when we have a big opportunity to make history for the Club. This award is because of my team-mates, all the staff, the fans, my family and everybody who is behind Tottenham, so thanks to all of them.”

Let’s hope he celebrates it in the right way on Saturday and tops the achievement.
