It’s fair to say Moussa Sissoko does split the Tottenham Hotspur fanbase and he regularly attracts criticism from some quarters following matches, but that certainly wasn’t the case following Saturday’s victory over Crystal Palace.
Taking the 1-0 victory courtesy of Juan Foyth’s second half winner and maiden club goal, the 29-year-old former Newcastle man certainly put a shift in and his efforts on the day saw him win praise from manager Mauricio Pochettino and applause from those in the stands.
The reaction on social media was also extremely positive and in his favour given his work around the pitch and there will be plenty who hope that this is now the baseline when it comes to future performances.
Gone from zero to hero sure has stepped up

Think he was a game changer today. Massive effort there, when Palace kept barraging us with corners, Sissoko was the one to drive that danger away and Sonny on a counter that he should've scored. We were about to break if it went on any longer. Moussa was brilliant

I wonder how much the spurs faithful being so vocally on his back has hindered him. He used to look like he'd never seen a football. Now Has confidence and is a main man in CM of late. Massive turnaround.

He’s stepped up massively this season and deserves his place in the team at the moment

Regardless whether people want to acknowledge or not, it rightly should be mentioned it was another ‘MOTM’ type of performance from Moussa Sissoko.
Throughly enjoyable to see him finally getting some appreciation for the tireless work in the heart of our midfield.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/Mq7GpJpwV6

Makes me sad thinking what a good player he could have been from the start if he would have gotten the support from the fans that he needed.

As the above selection of comments on Twitter show, many were impressed with him and plenty have taken on board what has been a noticeable improvement in his levels of late and the want it to continue.
