The Football Association have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Newport County this midweek.

Tottenham Hotspur host Newport County on Wednesday February 7 for the FA Cup Fourth Round replay at Wembley Stadium and the match carries a 7.45pm kick off.

Referee: Stuart Attwell
Assistant Refs: Stuart Burt and Harry Lennard
Fourth Official: Kevin Friend
VAR & AVAR: Scott Graham and Darren Cann

Match Day referee Attwell has officiated 20 games in 2017/18, showing 69 yellow cards and one red card.

He took in 27 games in 2016/17 with a return of 90 yellow cards and eight red cards.

That season his highest card count was five yellows and three reds in the game between Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday. He showed seven yellows and two reds in the Oxford v Swindon Town game. He also showed seven yellows in the game between Southampton and Middlesbrough.

He took in 44 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 118 yellow cards and four red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Plymouth and Crawley on October 3 with a total of six yellows being shown.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.

  • Hey ref! Is that a pea in your whistle or are you just ‘appy to see me… or, to see me not… Ask the linesman!

  • I’m a little confused as to why and how we are getting these match officials threads for every match but have had no match-day article for the past 3 games.

  • Gents, long time no chat. I am in the states and am coming to London in April and while there Spurs are playing Brighton away. PLEASE please please tell me the best way to get two tickets with the spurs fans in the away section. i am imagining they just went on sale or are about to. I have only seen Tottenham live here when they have come for the U.S. tours. Any help that any of you members can give me would be greatly appreciated, COYS!!!!!

  • YankeeSpur23. Official ticket sales are not available until about a month in advance of a match. THFC members have to make an application for away tickets and if any are leftover they eventually go on general sale. I have no idea about non-official means but I am under the impression that it may often be cheaper to pay for a season-long membership and apply for tickets, rather than pay other outlets and their often extortionate prices….. Be careful about buying tickets online, outside of the club as there are many rip-off merchants out there, often with tickets supposedly available before they have officially gone on sale!. … Sorry I can’t be of more help. Maybe it would be useful to Email the club for your information.

  • So, if we can get past the Welsh wonder team tonight, we will face Rochdale away in the 5th round.

  • Please do email the club YankeeSpur23 as they can give you the answers you need. As even becoming a member cannot necessarily buy you just the 1 ticket for an away game, let alone 2. The away tickets are done on a points system according to regular attendance’s at matches from members and are not first come first serve.
