Official: Tottenham man to ‘undergo rehabilitation’, will return at the ‘end of October’

Tottenham have confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso is due to ‘undergo a period of rehabilitation’ and will return to training at the ‘end of October’.

The 23-year-old picked up a hip injury while on international duty with Argentina and has returned to Spurs early for his recovery.

The midfielder was forced off against Chile (September 6) and was replaced by Exequiel Palacious in the 53rd minute.

Lo Celso may return in time to face Liverpool (Premier League) on October 27 or Everton (Premier League) on November 2.

The Argentine international has made three appearances since joining Spurs from Real Betis over the summer, racking up 44 minutes of Premier League football.

Lo Celso failed to make the matchday squad in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa (August 10), was given only five minutes from the bench in Spurs 2-2 draw with Manchester City (August 17), had 28 minutes in a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United (August 25) and picked up 11 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal (September 1).

Supporters haven’t seen much of their new arrival and will have to wait a number of weeks before he’ll be back out on the pitch again.
