Official: Georges-Kevin N’Koudou loan update

|

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou was absent as AS Monaco beat LOSC Lille 1-0 on March 15. The 24-year-old has been out of action since mid-February with a hamstring injury, but there’s been no update on his recovery since Monaco revealed on March 7 that he’s undergoing rehabilitation with Pietro Pellegrini.

N’Koudou’s last appearance for Monaco was against FC Nantes on February 16. He replaced Aleksandr Golovin from the bench, amassing just seven minutes of playing time. His loan move to Monaco hasn’t quite gone to plan, with the former French u21 international having made just three appearances (20 minutes).

Injury has hampered his chances of featuring this month, but the winger should return for Monaco after the international break as he’s already back in training. The Ligue 1 side face Caen on March 31 and could move two places up the table if results go their way. Leonardo Jardim’s men are eight points clear of relegation and have won four and drawn three of their last seven games.

N’Koudou has struggled for minutes due to the stiff competition for places. Monaco have Nacer Chadli, Jordi Mboula, Rony Lopes and Gelson Martins who are fit and available options out wide, so the Tottenham outcast has a tough task to work his way up the pecking order. He’ll hope to at least make the matchday squad against Caen at the end of March.
