Spurs Word On The Tweet

‘Not gonna happen’, ‘Don’t believe this at all’ – These Tottenham fans couldn’t take ‘outrageous’ report seriously

With every hour that goes by, a new story regarding Tanguy Ndombele and a potential switch to Tottenham Hotspur appears to emerge.

One moment we are considered favourites to sign the Olympique de Lyonnais ace and the next he is thought to favour a different destination.

It was claimed that we would be prepared to break our club transfer record to make sure we had Ndombele playing for us next season and now there appears to be a rumour that we would be prepared to offer him a mammoth contract to ensure he does sign a contract with us.

According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham are thought to be willing to offer the 22-year-old a deal worth £200,000-a-week over a five-year period.

That eye-watering figure may have many raising an eyebrow – or both – at how much Spurs are willing to pay him, however, eyebrows might actually be raised because of how unlikely a deal like that would seem likely to happen.

This is Daniel Levy, for god’s sake. Despite being notorious for not splashing the cash, the chairman has been exceptional with his business dealings and it is unlikely he will be willing to break the bank of that magnitude to give Mauricio Pochettino what he wants.

It would be great if he did loosen the purse strings a little to try and bring in some of the best players, however, £200k-a-week seems a little stretch at the present moment, as only Harry Kane (Spotrac) is currently on those terms with no-one else near him.

And, it would seem a number of our fans also find the report a little dubious to say the least as plenty of them took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the report.

The majority of them all stated that they felt ‘it was not happening’ whilst one ‘did not believe this at all’. Here are some of their reactions…
