Tottenham have been forced to cancel the proposed screening of our most important game in years because they were unable to secure the ‘necessary permissions’ from the FA and Sky.

Spurs had announced they would screen the showdown at Upton Park as we set out to secure fourth spot.

The official site announced:

‘We’d like to apologise to our fans but unfortunately we are now unable to proceed with the planned screening of our last game of the season away at West Ham on Sunday May 7 at 3pm.
We were particularly eager to bring this important match to you and having moved quickly and at short notice to try to stage the screening, it has now become evident that we cannot secure the necessary permissions from the FA Premier League and Sky to show the match. Clubs have been informed late this afternoon that no match can be screened live if there is a live game being televised on Sky at the same time.

Full refunds will be provided to those who have already bought tickets.

The club added: ‘We appreciate that supporters will be greatly disappointed and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.’

Thanks to the FA and Sky. The money men now rule the game and sod the fans.
